Hepatitis A virus

Hepatitis A virus is a contagious virus that affects the liver, causing inflammation and impairing its function. It spreads mainly through ingesting food or water contaminated with feces from an infected person, often due to poor sanitation or hygiene. Symptoms can include fatigue, nausea, jaundice (yellowing of the skin and eyes), and abdominal pain, but some people may have mild or no symptoms. The infection is usually temporary, and most people recover fully without lasting liver damage. Vaccination, good hygiene, and sanitation are key methods of prevention.
