Henry Darcy

Henry Darcy was a French engineer known for his work in fluid dynamics, particularly in understanding how fluids move through porous materials like soil and rocks. His research led to what is called Darcy's Law, which describes the flow of liquids through such materials by relating flow rate to factors like pressure, permeability of the material, and fluid viscosity. This law is fundamental in hydrogeology, environmental engineering, and groundwater management, helping us predict and analyze how water and other fluids move underground or through porous structures.
