
Henry Cole
Henry Cole (1808-1882) was a British civil servant and a key figure in the development of the Victorian arts and education. He is best known for founding the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, aimed at promoting applied arts and design. Cole also initiated the Great Exhibition of 1851, which showcased industrial and cultural achievements. His work significantly influenced the education system, advocating for the importance of art and design in public schooling.
