Henri Louis Le Châtelier

Henri Louis Le Châtelier was a French chemist who, in 1884, formulated what is known as Le Châtelier's Principle. This principle explains how a chemical system at equilibrium responds to changes such as temperature, pressure, or concentration. Essentially, when you alter conditions, the system shifts to counteract that change and restore balance. For example, if you add more reactant, the system produces more product. This concept helps chemists predict and control reactions, making it fundamental in industrial processes and chemical engineering.
