Henley-on-Thames railway

Henley-on-Thames railway was a branch line that connected the historic town of Henley-on-Thames in Oxfordshire to the main railway network at Marlow. Opened in 1872, it facilitated transportation for people and goods, boosting local economy and travel. The line was relatively short—about five miles—and primarily served passenger traffic, with some freight. It was operated by the Great Western Railway. The line closed to passengers in 1956 and completely in 1964, replaced by road transportation. Today, remnants of the route are part of local history, with some trackbed visible in the area.
