Hemorrhage Management

Hemorrhage management involves controlling severe bleeding to prevent shock and save lives. The first step is to apply direct pressure to the bleeding site with a clean cloth or bandage, pressing firmly to slow blood flow. If bleeding continues, elevate the injured limb if possible and apply a tourniquet above the wound, only if bleeding is uncontrollable and nearby options have failed. Keep the person calm and lying down to reduce blood flow to vital organs. Seek emergency medical help immediately. Properly managing hemorrhage can stabilize the person until professional care is available.
