Helmholtz Theory of Perception

Helmholtz's Theory of Perception suggests that our brain interprets sensory information by using unconscious inferences based on past experiences and knowledge. When we perceive something, our eyes send signals to the brain, which then fills in gaps and makes educated guesses about what we see, hear, or sense. For example, we recognize objects as whole despite partial or unclear input. Essentially, perception is an active process where the brain constructs our experience of reality by combining sensory data with prior learning to produce accurate and meaningful interpretations.
