Helium-Neon Laser
A Helium-Neon (He-Ne) laser is a device that produces a focused, coherent beam of red or infrared light through a process called stimulated emission. Inside the laser, helium and neon gases are energized by an electric current, causing the neon atoms to emit light. This light bounces between mirrors at each end of the laser tube, amplifying it until it becomes a narrow, intense laser beam. Commonly used in scientific and measurement applications, He-Ne lasers are valued for their stability, precision, and monochromatic (single-color) output, making them ideal for tasks requiring accurate light sources.
