HELCOM (Helsinki Commission)

HELCOM, or the Helsinki Commission, is an international organization founded in 1974 to protect the Baltic Sea environment. Comprising countries bordering the Baltic Sea, it develops joint policies and collaborates on issues like pollution, overfishing, and habitat preservation. HELCOM works to ensure the sea remains healthy and sustainable for both nature and people.
