Heimwehr

The Heimwehr was a nationalist paramilitary group in Austria during the early 20th century, particularly in the 1920s and early 1930s. Comprising ex-military personnel, right-wing nationalists, and conservative patriots, they aimed to defend Austria against communist threats and uphold traditional values. Often politically aligned with conservative and authoritarian movements, the Heimwehr engaged in street violence and political intimidation.
