Heidelberg Disputation
The Heidelberg Disputation, held in 1518, was a key debate among early Protestant reformers led by Martin Luther. It focused on contrasting two Christian views: one emphasizing human efforts and rituals for salvation, and the other highlighting faith in Jesus Christ's grace as the true path to salvation. Luther argued that salvation is a gift from God received through faith, not earned by good works or ceremonies. This debate helped clarify his theological stance, challenging the Catholic Church’s teachings and contributing to the start of the Protestant Reformation.
