Hector Pieterson

Hector Pieterson was a 13-year-old student in South Africa who became a symbol of the fight against apartheid, a system of racial segregation. He was accidentally shot and killed during the 1976 Soweto Uprising, when students protested being forced to learn in Afrikaans.
