Hebrew Alphabet

The Hebrew alphabet is a script of 22 consonant letters used for writing Hebrew, as well as other languages historically. Unlike alphabets with separate vowels, Hebrew often omits vowels in everyday writing, using optional vowel dots called niqqud for clarity. The letters are traditionally written from right to left. Each letter has a unique form and some carry numerical value, contributing to a system called gematria. Modern Hebrew has adapted the alphabet for contemporary use, maintaining its historical significance and distinctive characters while supporting digital and printed text.
