Heavy Water Production Plant
A Heavy Water Production Plant is a facility that produces heavy water, or deuterium oxide, which contains a hydrogen isotope called deuterium. Unlike regular water, heavy water is used in certain types of nuclear reactors to help sustain nuclear reactions efficiently. The plant separates heavy water from normal water through specialized processes involving isotopic exchange and distillation. These processes take advantage of slight differences in physical properties between regular water and heavy water, allowing for their separation. The resulting heavy water is then stored and supplied for nuclear power plants and research reactors.
