Heaviside's dolphin (Connochaetes heavisidii)

Heaviside's dolphin (Cephalorhynchus heavisidii) is a small, rare dolphin species native to the coastal waters of southern Africa, particularly around the South African Cape. It measures about 1.5 meters (5 feet) in length and has a distinctive black and white coloration, with a rounded dorsal fin and a short beak. This dolphin tends to stay close to the shore or in shallow waters. Known for its elusive nature, Heaviside's dolphin primarily feeds on fish and squid. Due to its limited range and small population, it is considered vulnerable, facing threats from habitat disturbance and fishing activities.
