hearing process

Hearing begins when sound waves enter the ear and reach the eardrum, causing it to vibrate. These vibrations are transferred through tiny bones in the middle ear to the cochlea in the inner ear, where fluid movement stimulates tiny hair cells. These hair cells convert vibrations into electrical signals, which travel via the auditory nerve to the brain. The brain processes these signals to identify and interpret sounds. This complex process allows us to perceive a wide range of noises, spoken words, and music accurately and quickly.
