Health Utility
Health utility is a measure used to quantify a person’s overall health status on a scale from 0 to 1, where 0 represents the worst possible health (equivalent to being dead) and 1 represents perfect health. It helps assess the quality of life associated with different health conditions and treatments. By assigning a numerical value to how healthy or well someone feels, health utility enables comparisons between different health states and informs healthcare decision-making, resource allocation, and cost-effectiveness evaluations.
