HDR (Harmonic Distortion Ratio)
Harmonic Distortion Ratio (HDR) measures how much unwanted extra sounds (harmonics) a device, like an audio amplifier or speaker, introduces into the original audio signal. Ideally, audio equipment should reproduce sound exactly as recorded. When it adds these unintended harmonics, it can make the sound seem less pure or clear. A lower HDR indicates the device produces fewer of these distortions, resulting in cleaner, more accurate sound reproduction. In essence, HDR helps quantify the fidelity of audio equipment by assessing the level of unwanted harmonic distortion relative to the original signal.
