HCCI (Homogeneous Charge Compression Ignition)

HCCI, or Homogeneous Charge Compression Ignition, is a combustion technology in engines where a mixture of fuel and air is evenly dispersed inside the cylinder. Instead of using a spark plug like in traditional engines, the mixture is compressed until it reaches a high temperature, causing it to ignite spontaneously. This process leads to efficient fuel use and lower emissions, combining the benefits of gasoline and diesel engines. HCCI offers quieter operation and better fuel economy but requires precise control of temperature and mixture for reliable ignition.
