Hazing

Hazing refers to activities or behaviors, often abusive or humiliating, that individuals are forced to participate in as a requirement for joining a group or organization, such as a fraternity, sports team, or club. While sometimes viewed as tradition or rites of passage, hazing can include physical, emotional, or psychological harm, and often blurs the lines between initiation and abuse. It can create unsafe environments, damage trust, and cause serious health or emotional issues. Many institutions have policies and laws against hazing to promote safety, well-being, and respectful treatment of all members.
