Haykakan Kamarik

Haykakan Kamarik is the Armenian alphabet, a unique set of characters created in 405 AD by scholar Mesrop Mashtots. It was devised to promote Armenian literacy and cultural identity by providing a standardized script for the Armenian language. The alphabet consists of 39 letters (originally 36), each representing distinct sounds, and has played a vital role in preserving Armenia's history, literature, and religious texts. Today, Haykakan Kamarik remains a symbol of Armenian national identity and is used in all aspects of communication, education, and cultural expression within Armenia and the Armenian diaspora.
