Hayat Tahrir al-Sham
Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) is a militant group primarily active in northwestern Syria. It emerged in 2017 from a merger of Islamist factions and aims to establish an Islamic state. HTS is considered a terrorist organization by several countries due to its involvement in armed conflict, attacks, and ties to extremist networks. Although it presents itself as a rebel group fighting against the Syrian government, its actions have contributed to ongoing violence and instability in the region. The group operates mainly within Syria and has complex relationships with other Syrian opposition factions and international actors.
