Hausa Kingdom

The Hausa Kingdoms were a collection of independent city-states located in what is now northern Nigeria, flourishing from around the 10th to 19th centuries. They were known for their advanced trading, craftsmanship, and vibrant cultures, linked by shared language and religion. Each kingdom, like Kano, Katsina, and Zazzau, had its own ruler but interacted through trade and alliances. Their strategic position facilitated commerce across Africa and beyond, especially in gold, salt, and textiles. Over time, these kingdoms adapted to changing political dynamics and external influences before falling under colonial rule in the late 19th century.
