Hasan Polatkan
Hasan Polatkan was a Turkish politician and economist, known for his contributions to Turkey’s development in the mid-20th century. He served as the Minister of Finance and later as a senator, playing a key role in economic reforms. Polatkan was also notable for his involvement in the Justice Party, a major political organization. Tragically, he was imprisoned and executed in 1961 following a military coup. Today, he is remembered as a dedicated public servant who prioritized Turkey’s progress, and a statue in Istanbul honors his legacy.
