Harvard Medical School for Women

Harvard Medical School for Women was a medical school established in 1848 to provide women with access to medical education and training at a time when few institutions admitted female students. It focused on advancing women's roles in medicine, providing them with opportunities to become physicians. Although it later merged with Harvard Medical School in 1882, its establishment was a significant step toward gender equality in medicine and helped pave the way for future generations of female doctors. Today, women are an integral part of the medical community, reflecting the progress made since the school's founding.
