
Harsha (Harshavardhana, post-Gupta)
Harsha, also known as Harshavardhana, was a powerful Indian ruler who reigned around the early 7th century CE, after the decline of the Gupta Empire. He unified large parts of northern India, fostering political stability and cultural growth. Harsha was also a patron of arts, literature, and Buddhism, supporting scholars and writers, including the famous Chinese traveler Xuanzang.
