Harald Hardrada was a 11th-century Norwegian king known for his military skill and ambition. He ruled Norway briefly and sought to expand his power, often engaging in battles and alliances across Europe. Famous for his fierce reputation, he aimed to claim the English throne, leading to his invasion of England in 1066. His campaign was part of the tumultuous period known as the Viking Age, marked by Norse exploration and conquest. Ultimately, he was defeated and killed at the Battle of Stamford Bridge, a pivotal event that marked the end of Viking invasions into England.
