Harmony Society

The Harmony Society was a religious Gemeinschaft founded in 1805 in Germany, later relocating to the United States in 1825. Its members practiced communal living, sharing property, resources, and labor to support collective spiritual and social ideals. The society aimed to create a harmonious, utopian community based on their Christian beliefs, emphasizing simplicity, chastity, and cooperation. They established settlements, notably in Indiana, where they maintained agriculture, crafts, and education.
