Harmonic Grammar
Harmonic Grammar is a theoretical framework for understanding how people produce and interpret language. It suggests that language choices result from balancing multiple competing factors, each assigned a certain weight based on their importance. When speaking or forming sentences, these factors—such as clarity, ease, or grammatical rules—add up to a "harmonic score." The most natural or preferred expression is the one with the highest overall score, reflecting the best compromise among all considerations. This approach helps explain variability in language use and how different influences shape linguistic patterns.
