Hardware Description Language
A Hardware Description Language (HDL) is a specialized programming language used to design and specify electronic circuits and systems, such as those found in computers and smartphones. It allows engineers to describe how hardware components connect and operate, similar to writing instructions for a machine. Instead of physically building a circuit first, they create a digital “blueprint” that can be simulated, tested, and refined before actual hardware is made. HDLs like VHDL and Verilog help ensure the designs are correct, efficient, and ready for manufacturing.
