Hard plating
Hard plating is a technique used in manufacturing, especially for creating durable metal coatings on objects. It involves applying a very thin, hard layer of metal—such as chromium or nickel—onto a surface to improve its wear resistance, corrosion resistance, and appearance. This process typically uses electrochemical or electroplating methods, where the item is submerged in a metal solution and an electric current deposits the metal onto its surface. The result is a smooth, hard finish that extends the life of the part and enhances its performance under stress and environmental conditions.
