Haptic perception
Haptic perception is the ability to understand and interpret the world through touch. It involves sensing qualities like texture, shape, temperature, and weight using skin receptors and underlying tissues. When you hold an object or feel its surface, your nervous system processes the sensory information to recognize and identify what you're touching. Haptic perception combines tactile (touch) and kinesthetic (movement and position) senses, enabling you to interact effectively with your environment, such as distinguishing a soft fabric from a rough one or determining the size of an object without looking.
