Hanji making process
Hanji, traditional Korean paper, is handmade by harvesting mulberry bark, boiling it to soften, and then pounding it into pulp. This pulp is carefully spread onto a flat screen to form thin, even sheets, which are then dried naturally in the sun. The process preserves the fibers’ strength and flexibility, resulting in durable, high-quality paper. Hanji's craftsmanship involves meticulous repetition and attention to detail, producing a material valued for its longevity, aesthetic appeal, and cultural significance.
