Hand of God

The "Hand of God" refers to a famous moment in 1986 when Argentine soccer player Diego Maradona scored a goal using his hand during a match against England in the World Cup. Because officials didn’t see his hand touch the ball, the goal was allowed to stand. The term also symbolizes a moment of perceived divine intervention or extraordinary influence in an event, often highlighting an action that is unconventional, sneaky, or evoking the idea of a higher power affecting the outcome in a way that isn’t entirely fair.
