Hanafi schools of thought
The Hanafi school is one of the four main Sunni Islamic legal traditions, founded by Imam Abu Hanifa. It emphasizes the use of reasoning and personal judgment (ijtihad) when interpreting religious texts, alongside the Quran and Hadith. Known for its flexibility, it often considers the context and customs of different communities below strict textual literalism. The Hanafi school is the most widely followed among Sunni Muslims, especially in South Asia, Turkey, and the former Ottoman empire. It seeks a balanced approach, combining tradition with rational analysis to guide daily life and religious practice.
