Han (Eastern Han Dynasty)
The Eastern Han Dynasty, also known simply as the Han Dynasty, lasted from 25 to 220 AD in ancient China. It followed the short-lived Xin Dynasty and was marked by a revival of Chinese culture, trade along the Silk Road, and advances in technology and science. The dynasty saw significant developments in governance, including the establishment of a bureaucratic system based on Confucian ideals. This period is known for notable figures like the historian Ban Gu and the poet Cao Zhi. The Eastern Han ultimately declined due to internal strife and corruption, leading to its fall and the subsequent Three Kingdoms period.
