Hammertoe
Hammertoe is a foot condition where one or more toes bend abnormally at the middle joint, forming a hammer-like shape. This usually occurs due to muscle imbalance, injury, or ill-fitting shoes that put pressure on the toes over time. Symptoms may include pain, difficulty walking, swelling, or corns on the affected toe. If untreated, the toe can become stiff or develop calluses. Treatment options range from wearing properly fitted shoes and using orthotics to physical therapy or, in more severe cases, surgical correction. Early intervention can help reduce discomfort and improve foot function.
