HALO (High Altitude Low Opening)
HALO, or High Altitude Low Opening, is a type of parachute jump. In this method, jumpers exit an aircraft from a high altitude, usually above 10,000 feet, but delay opening their parachutes until they are close to the ground. This approach allows them to remain undetected, as they typically descend rapidly and silently. HALO jumps are often used in military operations for stealthy insertions, as well as in certain extreme sports or skydiving scenarios. The technique requires specialized training and equipment due to the risks involved in jumping from such heights.
