Halo Effect
The Halo Effect is a cognitive bias where our overall impression of a person influences how we perceive their specific traits. For example, if someone is attractive or friendly, we might also assume they're intelligent or competent, even without evidence. Conversely, if we dislike one aspect of someone, we may overlook their positive qualities. This bias can affect judgments in areas like hiring, dating, or customer reviews, leading us to make skewed assumptions based on a single favorable or unfavorable trait, rather than evaluating them objectively across different qualities.
