Hallucigenia
Hallucigenia is an extinct, worm-like marine creature from the Cambrian period, about 500 million years ago. It had a small, elongated body with rows of spines or tentacle-like structures along its back, which may have served for protection or movement. Its appearance was initially confusing to scientists, leading to some debate about its shape and features. Recently, fossil studies revealed that Hallucigenia was likely upside down, with its spines acting as legs and tentacles on top. It is considered an important example of early arthropod evolution and helps scientists understand the diversity of ancient life forms.
