Hallstatt type helmet

A Hallstatt type helmet is an ancient European iron helmet from the early Iron Age, roughly 8th to 6th centuries BCE. Recognized for its distinctive design, it features a rounded, conical shape with a nasal guard to protect the face and often includes a pronounced brow ridge. These helmets were typically made of hammered iron or bronze and sometimes decorated with rivets or patterns. Their purpose was both protective in combat and a display of status or identity among warrior elites. The name derives from the Hallstatt archaeological site in Austria, where such helmets were first discovered.
