Haiti (République d'Haïti)
Haiti, officially known as the Republic of Haiti, is a country located on the island of Hispaniola in the Caribbean, sharing it with the Dominican Republic. It is the first post-colonial independent Black-led nation, gaining independence from France in 1804. Haiti has a rich history, vibrant culture, and unique Creole language. Despite its resilience, it faces challenges like economic difficulties, political instability, and recovery from natural disasters such as earthquakes and hurricanes. The country’s economy mainly relies on agriculture, remittances, and tourism, and it remains an important symbol of resistance and independence in the Caribbean.
