HAHO (high-altitude high-opening)
HAHO, or High-Altitude High-Opening, is a parachuting technique used by military and special operations forces. In this method, jumpers leap from a high altitude—often above 25,000 feet—and deploy their parachutes shortly after exiting the aircraft, during descent. This allows them to cover long distances quickly and arrive at a target area with minimal exposure to enemy defenses. The technique requires specialized training and equipment to manage oxygen levels at high altitude and ensure a controlled, accurate descent. HAHO is ideal for stealthy insertions, enabling operators to infiltrate areas covertly over significant distances.
