Hachiko

Hachiko was a loyal Akita dog in Japan who is famous for his unwavering devotion. Every day, he waited for his owner at a train station to return from work. Even after his owner tragically died suddenly, Hachiko continued to go to the station daily for nearly ten years, awaiting his owner’s return. His consistent loyalty touched many people and symbolized faithfulness and companionship. Hachiko’s story is celebrated in Japan and around the world, and a statue of him now stands at Shibuya Station in Tokyo as a tribute to his remarkable loyalty.
