Habsburg Netherlands

The Habsburg Netherlands refers to a group of territories in what is now Belgium, Luxembourg, and the Netherlands that were ruled by the Habsburg dynasty from the late 15th century to the 18th century. Initially part of the Burgundian Netherlands, these regions became key to the Habsburgs' European empire. Under their rule, the area experienced economic growth, cultural prosperity, and religious tension, eventually leading to the Dutch Revolt and the establishment of the northern Dutch Republic.
