Habitat II Conference
Habitat II was a global conference held in 1996 in Istanbul, Turkey, focused on urban development and housing. It aimed to address the challenges of rapid urbanization, including inadequate housing, infrastructure, and services in cities. The conference brought together government leaders, experts, and organizations to develop strategies for sustainable cities that improve living conditions, promote social equity, and protect the environment. The result was an official agreement called the Habitat Agenda, which guides international efforts to create more livable, inclusive, and environmentally-friendly urban areas worldwide.
