Habitability Zone

The habitability zone, often called the "Goldilocks zone," is the region around a star where conditions are just right for liquid water to exist on a planet's surface. This is important because water is essential for life as we know it. The zone's distance depends on the star's brightness; too close and water would evaporate, too far and it would freeze. While being in this zone doesn't guarantee life, it increases the chances of a planet having the right environment for potential habitability.
