H-II Transfer Vehicle
The H-II Transfer Vehicle (HTV), also known as Kounotori, is a robotic cargo spacecraft developed by Japan to supply the International Space Station (ISS). It launches into space aboard an H-II rocket and transports supplies such as food, water, equipment, and scientific experiments. Once its cargo is delivered, the HTV can also carry waste materials back to Earth for disposal. Designed for automated docking, it plays a key role in maintaining station operations and supporting scientific research, showcasing Japan’s capabilities in space logistics and technology.
