H. Felty

H. Felty, or Felty syndrome, is a rare autoimmune disorder characterized by the combination of rheumatoid arthritis, an enlarged spleen (splenomegaly), and low white blood cell counts (leukopenia). It typically occurs in individuals who already have rheumatoid arthritis. The immune system mistakenly attacks the body's own tissues, leading to joint pain and swelling, as well as potential complications from reduced immunity. Treatment focuses on managing symptoms and may involve medications to suppress the immune response, improve joint function, and address blood count issues. Early recognition and intervention are important for improving quality of life.
