Gyre Circulation
Gyre circulation refers to large, circular systems of ocean currents that span vast areas across the world's oceans. Driven by wind patterns, Earth's rotation, and differences in water temperature and salinity, these currents move warm and cold water around continents, influencing climate and weather. There are five major gyres: North and South Atlantic, North and South Pacific, and Indian Ocean gyres. They play a vital role in distributing heat, supporting marine life, and shaping oceanic and atmospheric patterns on a global scale.
